3 Points:

  1. Many churches lack an online presence, which is essential in this era of rapid technological advancement and swift information distribution, providing an efficient medium for spreading the Gospel.

  2. Having a church website and social media accounts is crucial. They provide platforms for showcasing what the church is about, accessing resources, asking for help, and making donations. It also helps identify and grow the church community.

  3. Overcoming tech-related challenges doesn’t necessarily require an in-house specialist from the start. Believing in the need to catch up with technology and seeking advice on how to start is the first step.

There must be over 1,000 storefront churches that exist in New York alone, and more than half of them have no online presence. We used to say not even a website, but now we would have to add not even a Facebook page or an Instagram page. This is not intended to talk about churches in a negative way, but rather to discuss the problem of being left behind in regards to technology so we can start accepting solutions.

Why is it important not to be left behind? Well, the first obvious reason is that technology is progressing faster than we can probably bend to tie our own shoelaces. The second reason is that we are now in a time and age where information moves almost faster than the speed of light, so spreading the Gospel is way more efficient through technological mediums than physically waiting until you see a person face to face. The third reason, it’s the biggest opportunity for holistic church growth.

Having a church website is important for several reasons:

  • It’s a place where people can see what your church is about before visiting.

  • It’s a place for people to access resources on the go that they can use to improve their personal lives.

  • It’s a place where people can reach out for help.

  • It’s a place where people can send donations to help support causes that the church supports.

And the list goes on.

Having social accounts for your church is also important because now you can identify your community, stay connected with them, and eventually grow that community as the awareness of your church grows over time. That’s a win-win.

One of the most frequent excuses is, “I don’t have anyone to do the tech stuff at my church, so I am not ready or there yet”. Here’s the reality, you don’t need anyone at first, you just need to believe that you need to catch up with technology and actually reach out to someone who can advise you on where to start.

We here at Manifestare believe in the importance of having churches around and that’s why we build tools that help any church have a successful online presence. We build your website for you and give you the tools and support you need to grow your presence online immediately.
